While we know there may be a rush to predict the outcomes, counties are prioritizing accuracy and security above all else as they count ballots. We want PA voters to know that their votes will be accurately counted and verified. Results of some races may not be known on election night.

Though timely tabulation of votes is a priority, the number one priority of the Department of State and counties is making sure each ballot is counted accurately and securely.

Finally, when it comes to results and any other election-related information, make sure you are getting your information from trusted sources.

Supplemental Election Returns Report

Supplemental Election Returns Report

This report, posted daily, provides two data sets for the Nov. 7, 2023, general election:

    • The estimated percentage of mail ballots that are still uncounted. The number of mail ballots reflected on this report is updated only after counties enter mail ballot statuses in the statewide voter database. There may be fluctuations in the percentage of uncounted ballots, and this report should be considered an approximation.
    • Unofficial results from in-person voting on Election Day (number of precincts reporting).

Daily Mail Ballot Report

Daily Mail Ballot Report

This point-in-time transactional data is being published for informational purposes to provide a high-level overview of the processing of absentee and mail-in ballots by county election offices. This data is pulled once per day from the Statewide Uniform Registry of Electors (SURE system) and it reflects activity recorded by the counties in the SURE system as of the time of the pull.

Please note that county election offices will continue to process ballot applications, record ballots, reconcile ballot data, and make corrections when necessary, and this will continue through Election Day. Administrative practices for recording transactions in the system may vary by county (i.e., recording individual transactions as they occur versus recording batches of transactions at specific intervals). These activities may result in substantial changes to a county's data from one day to the next.

The spreadsheet contains three separate tabs – absentee ballots, mail-in ballots, and total ballots (meaning the total of mail-in and absentee ballots) – with each tab detailing the data by county. The data includes all mail ballot applications processed by counties, which includes voters on the permanent mail ballot list. Users may need to clear their browser cache to download the latest file. If you have any issues viewing or downloading the spreadsheet, please contact the department at ra-st-press@pa.gov.
